Hi, I'm Roki. I'm 30, a father of one, and I live in Japan.

I'm not a beauty industry insider — just someone living in Japan who actually walks the drugstore aisles, reads the Japanese-language packaging, and can tell you what's genuinely worth trying versus what's just well-marketed.

This site exists because most "J-beauty" coverage outside Japan is written secondhand, based on what's already popular overseas rather than what's actually on shelves here. I write from Japan, not from a translated press release.

These days I run most of my work from a VPS, using Claude Code and Codex as my day-to-day tools. I'm not chasing a grind — I'd rather build systems that keep working while I'm not looking.
